So it seems that we had a bit of a security hole in our hosting setup. Our stylesheet got deleted. Awesome. So we patched it up and are now in the process of improving the site’s functionality.
Anyway, we’re also in the process of looking for a few good, tech-savvy people to join our team. Interested? More info on availability after the jump.
Open Positions:
- Tournament Administrator: We need someone with a good structured understanding of how to run a tournament. Knowledge of various tournament structures, how to organize and run each, and how they work is required. You, obviously, would be responsible for running the tournaments at our events.
- Game Server Operator: We need a few people to be in charge of the various game servers that we have running at our events. Applicants should have in-depth knowledge of one or more game servers, and be able to respond quickly to any issues that may crop up during a game. These people will be responsible for running and moderating our Counter-Strike: Source and Team Fortress 2 servers.
- Web Developer/Administrator: We’re always looking for someone knowledgeable in the ways of various web development techniques. Knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Linux (and comfortable in the shell) is recommended. Any other web-based skills are always a plus. You would be responsible for keeping the website up and running smoothly, keeping backups of the WordPress and forum, and resolving problems that may arise during normal site operations.
- Professional Sponsorship Coordinator: we’re gaining sponsors all the time. We need someone to keep track of our professional contacts and our sponsorship agreements. Applicant should be well-organized, demonstrate a high level of charisma, and be quick to respond to emails and other communications. You will be responsible for keeping our sponsors updated on BurningLAN events, and of course gain support from them for each event.
- Social Media Promoters: if you do not meet the requirements for any of the above positions, we are always looking for people to promote BurningLAN through physical and social media. If you are a Facebook or Twitter whore, this is definitely for you.
